How to form a union in Georgia

  • Build a committee that can talk to every department. The IAM trains that committee.

  • Sign authorization cards when a strong majority is ready. Cards are not a public petition.

  • Vote in a secret-ballot election. Then elect a bargaining team and ratify your first contract. No IAM dues until that ratification vote.

Right-to-work does not block organizing

Georgia is a right-to-work state. That affects how dues work after a contract. It does not take away your right to organize, vote for a union, or bargain. Federal law still protects union activity.
