The Veterans Union
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is the largest defense union in North America representing workers who manufacture, maintain, and assist all things military. Every .223/.556 fired in the War on Terror was made by IAM members. Our members run the flight simulators to train Air Force pilots, build and maintain our fighter jets and cargo planes, manufacture missiles and defensive flares, our membership even builds the U.S. Navy Destroyers and proudly produces Lockheed Martin and Raytheon's state of the art missiles and tracking systems.
Why is the IAM, the #1 Choice for Veterans?
Our leadership history is made up of U.S. Veterans who knew what the definition of "one for all, and all for one". President Bob Martinez Jr is a veteran from Fort Worth Texas who worked his way up from the shop floor at Lockheed Martin, our current President, Brian Bryant built Navy Destroyers at General Dynamics "Bathe Iron Works" facility in Maine.
When military experience and values is incorporated into a labor union, something the likes of this movement has never seen grows like wildfire. Loyalty to its membership, discipline and strength to adhere to the memberships will, and shear passion for the betterment of the American worker.
What Does the IAM Offer its Veterans?
What do you think of when you hear VA or Veterans Affairs? Do you think of never-ending hoops to jump through? Bureaucracy? An attorney to force them to provide the benefits you risked your life to earn... Well, the IAM has a Veterans Dept that specializes in taking care of all that. We actually represent the workers at the VA, which gives us access most people don't have. This benefit is free to all IAM members.
